My cross banners banners fit the Epiphany theme that Jesus came for people of all nations. The season of Epiphany began on Jan. 6, and is celebrated until the day before Ash Wednesday. These multicultural banners are available printed on a cotton-linen fabric or paper in a variety of sizes and colors. Printed in blue, the banner makes a lovely addition to a worship service celebrating union with Christ’s death and resurrection through the baptismal waters (Romans 6:4).
Please check my other substack posts (artoffaith.substack.com) and my website (www.BarbaraBjelland.com or www.FestalDesign.com), or contact me to see my art in my studio if you are interested. (email: BjellandBarbara@gmail.com)
THERE ARE MANY IMAGES RELATED TO LENT AND EASTER. These are also on my website (www.BarbaraBjelland.com), which is linked here: website
Below are some of my images for Epiphany, that are included in the show.
Epiphany was celebrated on January 6. It celebrates the manifestation and full identity of Christ the Lord. The Magi that came from the East represent the revelation of Christ to all the nations of the world.
At his baptism, God the Father affirmed Jesus’ identity with a voice from heaven and the descent of the Holy Spirit. John the Baptist affirmed Jesus was in a totally different league. My painting includes God’s hands as if holding a womb. Baptism is seen in Scripture as a womb of re-birth (John 3) as well as a tomb, as we die and rise with Christ (Romans 6).
The first miracle where Jesus revealed his glory took place at the wedding at Cana, where Jesus changed water to wine (John 2). The wedding feast also points to Communion, which is a foretaste of the heavenly banquet at the end of time (Rev. 19:9).
Epiphany blessings as the love and light of God incarnate is revealed in Christ!
